Employment equity is the process of ensuring that a business has an equal representation of workers from all groups of people. This is an especially crucial factor in South Africa due to the injustice that the apartheid regime had laid upon the country. This led to an excessively huge gap in income and resources towards people of colour because they were just not given the opportunity to gain these. The second day of the employment equity training programme will be attended by all. Those committee members who are already familiar with the law can bypass the first day. In addition, the committee will learn how to apply these principles practically into their company and in doing so, keeping with the law. Each company will have to undergo a yearly EE audit. This is where it will be determined if the guidelines to the law are being met. Those companies who have not met these, will be fined. The consequences are even direr for those companies who have not even taken the opportunity to do so.
